Touchpad delay every time i remove my finger

Device: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13
Touchpad: Sensel Haptic Touchpad

I’ve noticed that when using the touchpad, if I don’t touch it for a few seconds, the cursor has a ~0.3–0.5 second delay before responding to the first movement. After that, tracking is immediate and smooth. If I lift my finger and touch again after a short idle, the delay returns.

I confirmed it’s not a Windows or driver issue. My system uses Modern Standby (S0 Low Power Idle), and I’ve tried all available power and pointer settings.

Steps I’ve already taken:
– Updated all drivers and BIOS
– Disabled “Touchpad Feedback”
– Disabled “Enhance Pointer Precision”
– Disabled Fast Startup
– Verified Modern Standby is active via powercfg /a

This behavior doesn’t occur on MacBooks or traditional touchpads. Is this wake delay expected for Sensel haptic pads? Is there a firmware tweak, registry setting, or updated driver that allows instant-on responsiveness without the delay?
