Morph not detected through USB-C adapter

Hi, I have a Morph which is working fine on a 2015 MBP (OS 10.13 High Sierra), but trying it on a 2019 intel MBP (OS 10.14 Mojave) with USB-C ports it is not seen as connected through the USB adapters (I tried 2). The Morph’s lights turn on when connecting, but the sensel app doesn’t register it, in fact neither does MacOS (10.14.6) (see below). Anything else I can try? Cheers!

Which adapters did you try? Not all of them send power and data. Try using a USB-C to USB-A cable that carries both power and data.

I’ve had success with an Apple branded adapter and my 2016 MBP.

Hmm, the adapters I’m using work well with other gear like a Korg Nanokontrol.
EDIT: More systematic testing showed that one of the Mac’s 4 USB-C ports has a bad contact, and the 3-port Satechi adapter sometimes doesn’t register that the Morph is plugged in.
Hopefully the new M1 Macbooks are more robust…
